The Boswell News was founded by J. Clyde Oswalt, a native of Union Township, Huntingdon County, who at the time of founding the Boswell News was on the staff of the Huntingdon New Era. Under Mr. Oswalt's capable management the paper grew steadily until due to ill health Mr. Oswalt sold it to Charles and Martha Long, who have published it since 1956. Mr. Long was an employe of Mr. Oswalt for many years. C. Buell Oswalt of Mount Union is a brother of the late J. Clyde Oswalt. Miss Florence Oswalt, also of Mount Union is a sister. J. Clyde Oswalt passed away about five years ago.
