Altoona Mirror, August 3, 1944

Resided in Houtzdale, PA.

Her only surviving grandchild, Mary Ann Hagan McKnight says that her grandmother taught her poems like:

"When I was a little girl no higher than the table,
I could eat and drink and play but work I wasn't able."

"My grandfather, he at the age of 93, worked upon a farm of keeping bees
and his necktie was a boarding house for fleas."

"I used to go in the storeroom and get her a lollipop She always said "I don't have time to eat this" then she did.

Mrs. McKnight said her grandmother when she first came to live with them (The Hagans), moved around by holding onto the furniture.  Her arthritis like condition worsened and the daughter-in-law had to lifther in and out of bed and into her chair until her death.  It is a genetic dysplasia problem.
