Notes for Simeon John Sprowls
Was 12 years old when his parents died. Worked odd jobs, some without pay, and assisted in building the residence of Thomas Stout. At 16 became a partner with Isaac Havley Squires, a builder. Squires moved to Ohio and Simeon cointinued the business.
In 1850 he purchased a farm from Samuel McQuery in East Finley. In 1878 he became ill and died of Typhoid Fever.
He helpoed buiuld the Windy Gap Presbyterian Church, Burnsville, PA.
Politically he was a Democrat.
