Martha Marks- 5 May 1997, I remember Bill (Marks) and I had to go to the cemeteries every Decoration Day. We went to Mt. Pleasant on the street car, hired a rig at John Brown Livery Stable and went to the mountains. We stayed overnight at Grandparents, Rita and Elija Marks. We took Grandpa's spring wagon, a lunch made by Grandma and went to tend the graves. We filled in all the sunken spots. We went to the Lankey relatives at the Brown Cemetery and to the Welshonse relatives at the Freeman Cemetery.
I wished that Mother would have called me Barbara after her mother but now I am glad I was called Martha."

Martha Marks-6/1997, The Welshonse name is not a common one in these parts (New Stanton,PA area). The old grandparents may have stopped off on their way west as the wagon train had a decent route and the road they traveled led to Donegal and Acme, PA
